LEAD programme (Leadership in Education And Development)
Aimed at: Depute Head Teachers, Assistant Head Teachers, Department Heads
Where will you find the time?
We understand the difficulty of trying to run a school and also meet current objectives e.g. Building Capacity and ongoing CPD.
Investing time can be problematic, however not investing time to develop can be catastrophic.
We have a solution
We can offer you a programme that is constructed around a series of 2 hour breakfast or lunch meetings in groups of 10-12 participants where we would cover one or two specific topics in depth and each of these would be combined with 1.1 coaching sessions where we can discuss individual application of the skills in dealing with real time situations in a constructive and solution focussed way.
Programme content
We would include an individual personality profile to be completed prior to the start of the programme. this would be referrred to throughout the programme specifically in the 1.1 coaching sessions, to highlight the ways in which we all process information and the importance of understanding our own and other people's communication styles.
Our approach is very flexible and these are just a selection of topics which can be included- there may be other specific areas you would like to cover, which we can arrange for you.
Some of the topics might include:-
- Leading people effectively - style and practice
- Influencing and networking to get things done
- Doing the right things at the right time
- The Delegation cycle
- Coaching for results
- Building a high performance team
- Communicating effectively
- Managing conflict
- Assertive behaviour
- Giving effective feedback
Our approach to delivery is flexible and we would be happy to discuss the best methodology for each school or group.

SCIP workshops (Schools Careers Industry Partnerships)
Aimed at: School Leavers moving into employment
Background
We developed the SCIP programme in partnership with the Oil and Gas Industry and Careers Scotland and delivered a number of highly successful one day workshops in the Aberdeen area. The focus was on providing young people with 'Industry ready' skills, building self confidence and bridging the skills gap between schools and employment. The workshops are recognised by The Scottish Government as meeting their Determined to Succeed objectives.
Workshop objectives
- Motivate pupils to market themselves in the best possible way to prospective employers via a practical 'hands on' workshop
- Develop specific 'Life Skills' in order that pupils know and appreciate themselves as unique individuals
- Provide a platform for industry to present an overview if the importance of it's sector and context
Current position
We are now seeking to facilitate a number of one day workshops in Secondary Schools in other areas of Scotland. The number of workshops delivered will depend on the number of Industry Partners we are asociated with in each area and DtS support. We are currently talking to a number of potential Industry Partners from other sectors and these new workshops will not be exclusively Oil, Gas and energy careers. The workshops will be aimed at pupils who are not planning to follow a graduate route into employment. We will facilitate all school liasons, workshop arrangements, content, psychometric materials an appropriate certification. All C-T-C facilitators are accomplished and experienced in this area of work an have Enhanced Disclosure Scotland Status.
Feedback from teaching staff
- 'I have spoken to some of the pupils who attended your workshop and their responses were all positive. 'A' summed up his opinion in one word - Brilliant!. He felt it had improved his confidence and made him feel like he knew what he had to do. In fact he had a successful job interview less that a week later. 'B' and 'C' both felt that the experience improved their confidence, especially in the mock interviews. When I spoke to 'D' he also said he felt more confident and I could see a clear difference in him; he actually looked and sounded confient; in fact, I'd almost swear he had grown a couple of inches taller such was the difference in his body language!.'
- 'It's been very easy to deal with you and the results for the pupils have been excellent'
- 'When can we have some more please?'
